Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry met on Monday with Dr Magdi Habib Yacoub, the honorary president of the board of trustees of the Magdi Yacoub Foundation (MYF) for the Aswan Heart Center Project (AHC).
They discussed cooperation between the Foreign Ministry and AHC in Africa especially in Nile Basin countries.
Foreign Ministry spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said the foreign minister praised the efforts exerted by AHC in Nile Basin countries especially in Ethiopia.
The meeting also tackled the horizons of cooperation between the Egyptian Agency Of Partnership For Development of the Foreign Ministry and AHC.
For his part, Yacoub praised cooperation with the Foreign Ministry in the African continent, expressing hope for boosting such cooperation in the future.
The Aswan Heart Center Project (AHC) - is an exceptional project launched in 2009 to establish a center of excellence to combat heart disease in Egypt. Based in the heart of the Egyptian city of Aswan, the AHC occupies an area of 9000 m2 adjacent to the Aswan General Teaching Hospital.
A project of great significance to the Egyptian people, it places emphasis on making available state-of-the-art facilities, resources, research and scientific methods to provide heart patients – especially the underprivileged – with the highest standards of care available today. Its focus is on Upper Egypt and its surrounding areas, and extends to reach anyone in need.
