Spain's Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy

Spain's Prime Minister Mariano Rajoy on Friday attended an emergency security meeting in Barcelona to discuss terror attacks that hit Placa de Catalunya.

Spain's prime minister met on Friday morning with the interior minister alongside police and emergency officials, ABC news reported.

Rajoy said on twitter that the meeting aimed at analyzing latest details on Barcelona and Cambrils terror attacks.

Rajoy traveled to Barcelona on Thursday after a terrorist drove a van into crowds in a busy tourist street, leaving 13 dead and more than a hundred injured.

Spanish police foiled another attack in the town of Cambrils when they shot dead five suspected terrorists who were planning to carry out a second vehicle ramming attack.
