Minister of Defense and Military Production General Sedqi Sobhi met Saturday with his French counterpart Jean-Yves Le Drian during his official several-day visit to Cairo.
Accompanied by a high-level delegation, Le Drian and Sobhi held talks on Egyptian-French military partnership.
Both sides expressed their aspire to boost military cooperation in the domains of training and expertise exchange between the two countries, highlighting the positive outcomes of such move in shoring up efforts of ensuring security and maintaining security in the Middle East region.
The meeting also tackled latest regional and international developments in the field of fighting terrorism.
Egyptian Chief of Staff Mahmoud Hegazi and a number of army's top brass were present during the meeting.
The meeting came after the Egyptian army received Monday three Rafale fighter jets from France.
The delivery is the first batch of 24 warplanes sold as part of a major deal struck between the Egypt and France early this year.
