An employment forum will kick off in Luxor on Saturday with the aim of providing 3,000 jobs to residents of the governorate.
The forum is organized by the Manpower Ministry in cooperation with Luxor City Hall and the International Labor Organization (ILO).
Manpower Minister Mohamed Saafan and Luxor Governor Mohamed Badr will open the two-day event with the attendance of director of the Cairo office of ILO Peter Van Rooij.
On the sidelines of the forum, businessmen will hold meetings with the executive leaderships of the governorate to review available investment opportunities in the tourist governorate.
Saafan said the forum will offer jobs in the domains of information technology, ready-to-wear clothes, animal and agricultural production, tourism services and logistics.
He expected that male and female residents of Luxor and Qena governorates would attend the forum.
The forum comes as part of Decent Jobs for Egypt’s Young People project carried out by the ILO to create and access decent jobs for young men and women.
