Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry returned home on Wednesday evening following a one-day visit to Iraq.
During his visit, Shoukry discussed with senior Iraqi officials means of boosting bilateral relations in all fields, as well as the latest developments in the region.
Shoukry met with Iraqi President Fuad Masum and congratulated him on the liberation of Mosul from Daesh terrorists.
The top Egyptian diplomat also held talks with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider al Abadi and Foreign Minister Ibrahim al Jaafari, as well as Speaker of the Iraqi parliament Salim al Jabouri.
Shoukry reiterated Egypt's support for Iraq in its bids to restore its leading role in the region.
