The Cairo Criminal Court

The Cairo Criminal Court on Tuesday postponed to November 5 the trial session of 67 defendants in the case of assassinating prosecutor general Hisham Barakat and espionage with Palestinian Hamas movement with a view to committing acts of terrorism inside Egypt.

The decision was made to give more time to listen to the testimonies of eyewitnesses.

The court has already listened to the testimonies of four officers of the national security agency.

Prosecutor General Counselor Nabil Sadek had ordered referring the defendants to criminal court.

Investigations revealed that they belong to the terrorist Muslim Brotherhood (MB) group and that they were spying for the Palestinian movement Hamas; the military wing of the MB, for planning to target Egyptian officials and statesmen in an attempt to create a state of chaos and instability in the country and undermine the Egyptian State.
