In author Andrew L. Smith’s 2012 book, “Manna for the Journey” (published by WestBow Press,) readers will discover a series of devotional thoughts that encourage faith from a perspective that has been described as “a little off-center.” This year, Smith’s book is reaching a wider audience with renewed marketing efforts.
Though Smith was called to the ministry at a young age, acting as a pastor while he attended college in the 1960s, he did not follow the path of professional ministry. Instead, he built a lifelong career as an architect. His faith, though, never left him.
“Sometimes when you step back and look at something at a different angle, a truth comes out,” Smith says. “When that truth is shared with friends, both parties gain strength.”
An excerpt from “Manna for the Journey”:
“Thank you Lord
For friends
Who honor us
With small gifts
Of tenderness.”
