Dr. Juma'a bin Ahmed Al Ka'abi

A total of ten beaches will be opened as part of the Municipalities Affairs and Urban Planning Ministry's 2013-2014 plan, the Minister Dr. Juma'a bin Ahmed Al Ka'abi said.
The beaches to be opened, in cooperation with the private sector, include Al-Fateh Corniche, King Faisal Corniche (eastern and western sides), Sitra Corniche, Tubli Bay, and in Zallaq, Barbar, Al-Juffair, Aska, Northern Avenue, Al-Dair, Samaheej, Busaiteen and Galali.
In a statement to Bahrain News Agency (BNA), the Minister said that the projects were part of the National Strategic Master Plan of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the National Strategy and the Economic Vision for Bahrain 2030.
He said that the BD10m King Faisal Beach will be opened in October, 2014, and work in the BD 15m Al-Fateh Beach will start soon and run for one year.
He also said that the revamp of the Galali Beach will start soon, with the participation of the private sector.
He added that the tender of the revamp of the 2-km Busaiteen Beach had been awarded to a contractor and that work will start later this month.
Regarding Al-Dair and Samaheej beaches, he said that work will begin before the end of 2014.
He pointed out that work in the Zallaq and Askar beaches would be completed soon, and that they would be opened by the end of next month.
He added that the land allocated for the 3.5-km Juffair Beach had been acquired.
Concerning the Tubli Bay Beach, he said that it would be opened before the end of this year.
He said that the projects are in implemented according to the directives of the government, led by His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa, and follow-up of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Premier.
