Ten hot air balloon flights took off in Luxor on Friday carrying 202 tourists of various nationalities.

Head of the union of hot air balloon companies in Luxor Ahmed Abboud said that the flights, operated by several travel agencies, flew over the city's archaeological sites. 

The number of hot air balloon flights is expected to increase in the coming days with the growing number of charter and direct flights from Japan and Germany, he added.
