St. Catherine’s Monastery, almost 1,500 years old, stands at the base of Mount Sinai on Egypt’s Sinai Peninsula

As many as 150 tourists of different nationalities visited Saint Catherine city over the past 24 hours, head of Saint Catherine Municipality El Sayed Abdel Sadeq said on Sunday.

The tourists are 120 foreigners and 30 Egyptians, he said.

They toured Saint Catherine's Monastery, Mount Sinai, Saint Catherine Nature Reserve, Jebel Abbas, as well as several other religious and archaeological sites, he added.
