Twenty-one hot air balloon flights took off from west Luxor on Sunday carrying 436 tourists of various nationalities and Egyptians visiting the monument-rich city.

The flights, operated by six tourist companies, flew over the city's archaeological sites, an official source at the hot air balloon airport said.

More flights of this kind are expected during the coming weeks with more tourists coming in, the source added.
