More than 2.374 million Muslims have arrived in Saudi Arabia to perform Hajj pilgrimage in Mecca, the holiest city in Islam, this year, a Saudi official said on Sunday.

Director General of Passports Maj. Gen. Sulaiman Bin Abdulaziz Al-Yahya said 2,325,189 pilgrims have arrived by air, 36,094 by land, along with 12,923 by sea.

Hajj takes place during the last month of the Islamic year.
