348 Egyptians return home from Libya via Salloum crossing

As many as 348 Egyptians returned from Libya via Salloum crossing over the past 24 hours, said Marsa Matrouh Security Chief Hesham Lofty on Monday.

Out of all the returnees, 329 Egyptians came back legally, while the rest returned illegally, he noted.

The arrival and departure procedures of 658 persons, including 261 Egyptians and 397 Libyans, were swiftly finalized.

Libya has been witnessing a rising insurgency by different rebel groups and militias and an increasing use of weapons since the overthrow of Muammar Gaddafi’s regime in 2011.
