As many as 4,500 tourists visited Abu Simbel Temple in southern Aswan during July, head of Abu Simbel antiquities department Hossam Aboud said Thursday.

Tourists were keen on visiting the Abu Simbel Temple, despite the high temperature during this time of the year, Aboud said.

He added the tourists came to the temple through charter flights and overland trips by Aswan-Abu Simbel Road.
