As many as 5,600 tourists of different nationalities visited archaeological sites in Luxor last week, General Director of Luxor Antiquities Moustafa Wazery said in a statement on Thursday.

The daily average number of tourists is 600 foreigners and 200 Egyptians, he added. 

Chinese tourists topped the list of foreign visitors to the city’s monuments, followed by visitors from Latin America, Ukraine and Germany, he asserted.
