Seven air balloon flights took off in Luxor on Friday carrying 120 tourists of various nationalities, head of the union of air balloon companies in Luxor Ahmed Abboud said.

The flights, operated by several travel agencies, flew over the city's archaeological sites, he added. 

Air balloon flights are expected to increase during the coming days with the growing number of charter and direct flights from Japan and Germany in addition to Egyptian visitors to the city, according to Abboud.
