Eight hot air balloon flights took off in Luxor, carrying 134 tourists of various nationalities, head of the union of air balloon companies in Luxor Ahmed Abboud said.

The flights, operated by several travel agencies, flew over the city's archaeological sites, Abboud said in statements on Sunday. 

Air balloon flights are expected to increase during the coming days with the growing number of charter and direct flights with foreign tourists on board, in addition to Egyptian visitors to the city, Abboud asserted.
