The national airline company Air Algerie signed Monday evening in Algiers an agreement with the American aircraft manufacturer Boeing for the purchase of two 737 cargo aircrafts.
The agreement was signed by Air Algerie’s CEO Mohamed Salah Boultif and Vice President of Sales for Africa and the Middle East for Boeing Commercial Airplanes Van Rex Gallard.
These two new aircrafts, added to eight (08) others 737 airliners ordered by Air Algerie from Boeing since the beginning of 2014, “will provide some flexibility to Air Algerie as they can be used for the transport of passengers and air freight,” Boultif told the press at the end of the signing ceremony.
The first delivery of these ten (10) aircrafts is scheduled for 2015 with the receipt of two planes while the rest will be delivered in 2016, according to the terms of the agreements.
The price of these ten ordered aircrafts amounts to USD900 millions, said US ambassador to Algiers Joan Polaschik, who attended the signing ceremony of this agreement.
