Airport of Sharm el-Sheikh

Minister of Civil Aviation Hossam Kamal reviewed the current situation of the air traffic especially at the airports of Sharm el Sheikh and Hurghada after the suspension of Russian and British flights, according to a statement of the Ministry of Aviation.

This came during a meeting with Minister of Tourism Hisham Zazou and Minister of Communications Yasser el Qadi.

Representatives of the ministries concerned with promotion of tourism attended the meeting.

During the meeting, Kamal welcomed the requests of some airline companies to increase security measures on their trips within the framework of the Egyptian law and international laws in this regard.

The Egyptian airports are committed to apply international legislations in air safety field, Kamal said.

On the other hand, Zazou asserted that the government will continue supporting the tourism sector, adding that a bunch of urgent measures will be taken to compensate the low tourism flow in light of the repercussions of the crisis especially in Sharm el Sheikh.

Meanwhile, Qadi voiced readiness of the ministry to offer all logistic support to render the efforts of the government successful.
