Cebu Pacific

Cebu Pacific has said it is “keen” to expand its operations in Australia.

The Philippine low-cost carrier launched its Manila-Sydney route in September 2014, initially offering four weekly flights using its 436-seat, all-economy class Airbus A330-300 aircraft.

This was increased to five flights per week in December and the airline now says it wants to expand further.

“In the first four months of operations, CEB’s… direct, non-stop services significantly stimulated inbound traffic into the Philippines and Australia. We look forward to expanding our services and further growing inbound tourism into our countries,” said Alex Reyes, general manager of Cebu Pacific’s long-haul division.

It will raise the issue in bilateral talks in Canberra on 28 April.
