Countries boycotting Doha block Qatari aircraft

Director General of the UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) Saif Mohammed al-Suwaidi on Wednesday denied reports that the four countries boycotting Qatar has eased restrictions on Qatari-registered aircraft from using their airspace.
Speaking to Sky News TV over the phone, al-Suwaidi said the four countries are committed to block Qatari aircraft from crossing their “sovereign airspace”.
The four countries have to protect themselves against the Qatar regime that patronizes terror groups, he said, adding that the aircraft movement would represent a danger for the boycotting countries.
Egypt, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, and the UAE severed ties with Qatar on June 5, accusing it of supporting terror groups.
