East China airport

Taizhou airport in east China's Zhejiang Province resumed operations on Sunday after being closed for more than a month following an attack on a flight.

The suspension started from July 29 after a passenger on Shenzhen Airlines flight ZH9648 from Taizhou attempted to damage the airplane while it was landing at Guangzhou Baiyun International Airport on July 26.

After the incident, the CAAC asked local branches to conduct safety checks on medium-sized, small and new airports.

In August, Shenzhen Airlines awarded nine crew members a total of 2.5 million yuan (around 400,000 U.S. dollars) and each of the two passengers 150,000 yuan for subduing the suspected arsonist during the flight.
