Air traffic controllers in Cairo airport called off a strike that caused disturbance in take-off flights on Thursday, after reaching an agreement with the authorities. Chief of Egyptian Airports and Aviation Holding Company Hassan Rashid said that there will be a meeting on Saturday to discuss the demands of the air traffic controllers who called for appointing 59 controllers with fixed contracts and regaining the incentives promised by the company. Egypt Air and other aviation companies have seen delays in arrival and departure for hours which led to losses estimated at about 20 million U.S. dollars and hundreds of passengers stranded in the airport waiting to depart.
