An EgyptAir flight heading from Cairo to Paris was delayed on Friday due to a technical malfunction.

The flight was scheduled to leave Cairo at 9:30 am, said a well-placed source with EgyptAir.

The passengers were accommodated by EgyptAir at a hotel near Cairo Airport until an alternative plane was available.
