Cairo airport authorities arrested on Sunday an Egyptian passenger after trying to smuggle weight-loss drugs and food supplements into Egypt.

According to officials at the airport, the drugs seized would cost about EGP 500,000.

The passenger was coming from Thailand via Oman, according to officials at the airport.

He was referred to the bodies concerned for interrogation, they noted.
