France seeks 100m tourists, relaxes visa rules

The French government announced a slew of initiatives Thursday aimed at luring more tourists, from the introduction of a fast-track visa for visitors from India and other growth markets to allowing Sunday shop openings in tourist areas, dpa reported.
Addressing a conference in Paris, Foreign Minister Laurent Fabius -
whose portfolio includes tourism - noted that while France was the
world's most-visited destination it lagged the US and Spain in terms
of tourist spending.
From 83 million foreign tourists in 2012 the government was now aiming for 100 million, he said.
