Tourists crowd on the Baltic Sea beach of Zingst

Germany attracted a record number of foreign visitors last year, the federal statistics office Destatis said on Tuesday.
The number of foreign tourists who stayed in Europe's biggest economy last year rose by 5.0 percent to 75.5 million, Destatis said in a statement.
It was the fifth annual record in a row, the statisticians said.
The number of overnight stays by German tourists in hotels, bed and breakfast and camp sites increased by 3.0 percent to 348.5 million.
And that meant the overall total including both German and foreign tourists rose by 3.0 percent to 424 million overnight stays, Destatis said.
