President of the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) Council Olumuyiwa Benard Aliu handed over Minister of Civil Aviation Sherif Fathi the certificate of the best achievement in the safety field for 2016.

The handover came during the Regional Ministerial Conference on Aviation Security in Africa and the Middle East in the Maritime International Congress Center (AVSEC) in the Red Sea resort of Sharm El Sheikh under the auspice of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi in the presence of representatives of international organizations.

The minister said that Egypt managed to be among the best 20 countries in securing airports and seeks to join the European aviation safety group to exchange data about planes at European airports.
