Illegal migration problem of advanced, developing countries alike

Illegal migration has become today’s problem in both advanced and developing countries, head of the national coordinating committee to counter and prevent illegal migration Naela Gabr said.

During a seminar Tuesday organized by the committee, Gabr said all countries have to be aware of the issue’s dimensions, causes and influencing factors to reach solutions.

She said all aspects should be included in the plan: legislation, media, awareness and documentation, in addition to regional, international and bilateral cooperation.

The law on fighting illegal migration and migrant smuggling has been one of the main accomplishments of the committee last year beside the field studies it compiled on the illegal migration of youth and unaccompanied children in the Egyptian society, she added.
