An Istanbul-bound flight took off from Cairo International Airport Thursday after a bomb threat turned out to be a hoax.

The airport received an email from a European embassy in Cairo warning against possible bomb on the plane, EgyptAir said in a statement

The plane was searched thoroughly more than one time to ensure safety of the flight no. 735, the statement added.
