KSA tourists made the most of it

Saudi tourists seemed unconcerned by the failed military coup in Turkey, many making videos and sending them to family members back home.
Some Saudi tourists captured the drama on their mobile phones and sent clips to their relatives in the Kingdom. Some added voice comments to the videos, describing in detail the stages of the coup and the Turkish people’s resistance to it.
One of such videos showed an armored vehicle driven by a pro-coup soldier stopped by Turkish citizens who barricaded it preventing it from reaching its destination, an act that was applauded.
From his hotel balcony, another Saudi tourist sent a reassuring message to his family in the Kingdom, telling them he was doing fine while the crisis was unfolding there.
He filmed several scenes of violence and sent them to his family and friends, accompanied by sarcastic comments about the failed attempt.
Many Saudi tourists refused to leave Turkey, convinced that the crisis did not warrant having their vacation cut short.
Meanwhile, the Turkish community in Saudi Arabia has strongly condemned the failed coup.
“We are saddened to see what happened to our country at the hands of a group of those who were entrusted with defending our people. With the grace of Almighty Allah the Turkish people and police, they were crushed,” Ali Al-Turk, a Riyadh-based marketing specialist, told Arab News.
According to Ismael Turki, who is currently vacationing in his hometown, said: “Everything is now normal. We have a very powerful authority that could easily take control of the situation. I am here and everything is fine.”
