Kuwait - Kuna
Hotel occupancy in Kuwait dipped by seven points to 49 percent in June, compared to 56 percent for the same period in 2010, a specialized report said Wednesday. The room price rate edged up by 3.9 percent to KD 74 per room in June, while single room revenues nosedived by 9.2 percent to KD 36, showed the report, released by Al-Tameer Real Estate Investment Company here. It added that hotel occupancy rate in most of the Middle East region saw a sharp decline in the same month, with Egypt and Bahrain being among the countries still suffering from the trend, while Dubai and Jeddah were the exception, with 70 percent and 78 percent occupancy rate respectively.
