Egypt's Tourism Adviser in Berlin Tamer Marzouq expected that the number of German tourists coming to Egypt in the next winter season could hit one million with a rate of increase ranging between 15 to 20 percent.

In statements to MENA, Marzouq said the number of German tourists who visited Egypt over the past year reached 800,000.

So far this year, the number of German tourists reached 645,000 tourists, he said, expecting a high turnout on tourism trips to Egypt in the coming winter season and Christmas celebrations.

The tourism adviser said there are reservations of more than 150 trips per week from Germany to Egypt in the coming winter, voicing hope that tourism rates in 2016 could hit its highest record registered in 2010 which witnessed 1.3 million German tourists in Egypt.

Germany has witnessed the largest ever promotion campaign for tourism in Egypt over the past period, Marzouq said, noting that Egypt is names an advertising agency every four years to propagate for its tourist and archaeological sites.

He also noted that a campaign is expected to be launched in late October till the end of the year to promote for tourism in Egypt in Germany's squares, audio and visual media as well as TV channels.
