The Egyptian National Railways (ERN) denied reports that a fire broke out in three carriages of Assiut/Cairo train No. 871.

In a statement released on Sunday, ERN said high temperature was reported in the buffet carriage of the train while at Beni Suef station.

The problem was rapidly handled and the train resumed its trip to Cairo, according to the statement.
