Thick dust enveloped the Queen Alia International Airport on Sunday, forcing Royal Jordanian (RJ) to reroute five of its flights which had to land at the Amman Civil Airport in Marka and the King Hussein International Airport in Aqaba. RJ sources told Petra this evening that the dust storm had sharply reduced visibility, prompting the national carrier's air control centre to redirect a flight from Abu Dhabi to the Civil Airport in Marka, while incoming flights to Amman from Dubai, Beirut, Suleimaniyeh and Baghdad landed in Aqaba. However, it added, flights began landing at the Queen Alia airport after visibility improved in the afternoon hours.
