Public Prosecutor Nabil Ahmed Sadeq ordered sending the investigation file into the Russian plane crash that occurred in late October over central Sinai to the high state security prosecution over criminal act suspicion.
The top prosecutor's decision was taken in light of the technical report issued by the Russian investigations office that suspected criminal action was behind the plane's crash.
Russian Kogalymavia’s A321 plane en route from Sharm el Sheikh to Russia’s St. Petersburg crashed on October 31 around 30 minutes after takeoff in Egypt's North Sinai, 100 kilometers to the south of Al Arish.
The flight carried 217 passengers and seven crew members. No one survived the crash. Most passengers were Russian nationals. Among the people on board were also four Ukrainian citizens and one Belarusian national.
