South Korea's air transportation volume reached the world's sixth largest last year mainly on increasing demand for air cargo services, the government said Monday. The country's air traffic volume jumped 31 percent from a year ago to some 21.15 billion ton-kilometer, a measurement unit that shows the amount of payload moved 1 kilometer.
