Saudi Arabia suspends flights of Iran's Mahan Air Company.

The Saudi General Authority for Civil Aviation announced on Monday that it prevented Iran's Mahan Air Company, a private airline based in Tehran, from landing in the Kingdom or using its airspace.

Following up performance of foreign air companies in the Kingdom, it was observed that the company violated national laws and regulations pertaining to the safety of international planes operating in the country and so the company's licenses were stopped, the authority said in a statement.

The decision was made to maintain the safety of passengers and in accordance with the Article 163 of the Kingdom's Civil Aviation, it added.
