Saudi Arabian Airlines or Saudia has emerged eighth among the top 15 carriers in the world by the International Air Transpwort Association (IATA).
The ratings were based on rapid travel procedures, which involve developing self-service automated systems at airports and easing regulations to save time and effort of travelers, local media reported on Monday. The IATA, which represents 260 carriers, issued a list of 15 international airliners which achieved top rankings.
Khalid Al-Balawi, the executive vice president for commercial affairs at Saudi Arabian Airlines, was quoted as saying that he was particularly delighted with this achievement and with the international appreciation of Saudia’s concern for the guests.
He said the successful implementation of the “Fast Travel” program is consistent with the strategic objectives of the transformation within Saudi Arabian Airlines and its strategy to enhance performance and service, as well as to improve its products and services.
Al-Balawi said the top ranking by IATA is a result of the huge investment Saudi Arabian Airlines has made in human resources, technical infrastructure and automated systems development.
“This was made possible through the acquisition of latest hardware and software systems and the provision of specialist cadres in all sectors of training. The other techniques include information and sales to provide the best service to guests in all locations, whether these services are direct or electronic,” he said.
