Passengers flaying into the UK from a number of West African countries would be screened for the Ebola virus at selected airports in the UK, including the biggest – London’s Heathrow, the BBC News reported.
Similar checks will also take place at the capital’s Gatwick Airport, as well as at St Pancras International station, the Eurostar hub in central London.
“If we find there are difficulties in any part of the process then we will be taking whatever steps are needed to tighten the process up over coming days,” said mental and health protection director at Public Health England, Paul Cosford said.
The screening will be extended to Terminals 2 and 5 on Wednesday, and rolled out to the other three terminals by the end of the week.
