The Cairo-based Arab Parliament commended the decision which was taken by the Republic of Paraguay to shut down its embassy in occupied Al-Quds.
AP Speaker Speaker Dr. Mishal bin Fahm al-Salami sent cables of thanks to Paraguyan President, foreign minister and Parliament chief, hailing the decision which complies with the UN resolutions and the historic and legal status of the occupied city.
He commended the decision to shut down the Paraguyan embassy in Occupied Al-Quds as reflecting deep-rooted historic ties binding the Arab and Latin American peoples which support the inalienable right of the Palestinians to establish an independent state with East Jerusalem as its capital.
“The Paraguyan decision was in response to strenuous Arab and Islamic diplomacy and the efforts exerted by the Arab Parliament in the aftermath of the disapproved US decision to transfer its embassy to Occupied Al-Quds’, he said.
Dr. Al-Salami urged the countries which transferred its embassies to Occupied Al-Quds or intend to do so to heed the UN resolutions, which are backed by the international community so as to preserve their ties and interests with the Arab and Islamic countries.
“The city of Al-Quds is an integral part of the occupied Palestinian territories as stipulated in the Security Council resolutions”, he said.
