Joy pervaded Bani Walid after the fled of Gaddafi's Battalions A member of the media committee at the local council of Bani Walid revealed today that the Libyan rebels spotted Monday night a convoy of 40 sophisticated mountain cars. The convoy  seemed to carry leaders of the ousted Colonel Mummar Gaddafi's Battalions, fled from Ghalboun valley, through rugged mountain roads towards Ourban area, while the joy pervaded the city declaring the full liberation, and the displaced people who run away from battles starts to return gradually to their homes.
Media committee member, Mahmoud Boras, said that the rest of Gaddafi's Battalions fled through Mansour valley in the direction of cities of Zliten, Tarhouna, Bin Walid, Al-Amamra and Alkhoms.
He suggested that the rebels are now sweeping the valleys and neighborhoods of the city, in which remnants of the Battalions might be hiding.
Boras said that: “joy pervaded the whole city for the complete liberation, after a siege held by Gaddafi's Battalion lasted for six months, pointing out that the local council of the city proceeded to reorganize all the urgent security, health, humanitarian, legal, and administrative issues, in order to prepare the city to catch up with the other librated cities, in order to participate in building the new Libya, and to activate the civil society organizations in the city.
The media committee member said that: “the displaced city's residents are returning to the city slowly and gradually, after fleeing the city due to the war.”
He noted that, they are waiting for telecommunications and electricity problems to be sorted, in order to facilitate the return of the rest of the residents.
Boras appeals to the ministry of defense to speed up the completion of Bani Walid Airport in order to receive aid aircrafts, given the tragic humanitarian situation in the city, especially after it’s hospital was looted and vandalised by Gaddafi's battalions.
