The communique aims

Minister of Trade and Industry Tarek Qabil said Monday the final communique of the Egyptian-German economic forum establishes a new phase of cooperation based on common interests.
In statements, the minister added that the communique aims to promote the framework of economic relations between Egypt and Germany, especially in the fields of industrial cooperation, trade policies, small and medium-sized enterprises, energy, transport, tourism and infrastructure, as well as issues related to food and agriculture.
The two sides stressed the need to increase the volume of trade exchange, especially in light of the fact that Egypt is one of the most important trade partners to Germany in the MENA region and that Germany is one of the most important EU trade partners to Egypt, the minister said. 
The volume of trade exchange between Egypt and Germany has increased by 10 percent in 2016 to reach 5.5 billion euros, he added.
The meeting reviewed investment opportunities available for German investors in the Egyptian market, especially in the fields of industry, education, energy, infrastructure, tourism and the environment, Qabil said.
The Egyptian side urged the German business community to take advantage of the investment opportunities in the industrial zones of Port Said, West Qantara, East Ismailia, Sokhna, alongside the ports of East Port Said, Adabiya, El Tur, Arish of the Suez Canal Economic Zone, he added.
