Queen Alia International Airport (QAIA) has rocketed through the ranks to come in at first place in the categories of ‘Best Airport by Region: Middle East’ and ‘Best Improvement by Region: Middle East’, the Airport International Group (AIG) announced.
The new rankings were announced in the 2014 Airport Service Quality (ASQ) Survey, the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark program, according to a press release by the AIG, the Jordanian company responsible for the rehabilitation, expansion and operation of QAIA.
The Survey published by global trade representative of airports, Airports Council International (ACI) - revealed that QAIA has registered unprecedented improvements in all 36 listed services and facilities in both the ‘Best Airport by Region: Middle East’ category and the ‘Best Improvement by Region: Middle East’ category.
"Jordan has proven to be a prime business environment and an ideal investment destination. We are pleased to have partnered with the Government of Jordan to construct what has become a globally acclaimed aviation gateway in the heart of the Middle East. Not only is QAIA a major national asset, but it has also made significant contributions to the government, positively impacted employment rates and promoted the Kingdom as a regional transit hub," said Chairman of AIG Khalifa Al Suwaidi.
Meanwhile, the CEO of AIG, Kjeld Binger, stated that "It is truly gratifying to see that our dedication and progress have been recognized by such a prestigious global accolade, which celebrates the commitment of airports worldwide to continuously improving passenger experience. At AIG, we have always believed in the boundless potential of QAIA, which now officially ranks number one in the categories of ‘Best Airport by Region: Middle East’ and ‘Best Improvement by Region: Middle East’. This unprecedented achievement is a great honor for us as we continue to work towards setting QAIA as a sustainable pillar in Jordan’s prosperity and as a source of pride for all Jordanians. I would like to take this opportunity to thank all of AIG’s employees, as well as QAIA's partners and shareholders for their steadfast support, without which this proud milestone would not have been possible."
The ASQ Survey is the world’s leading airport passenger satisfaction benchmark program, and covers over 300 airports in more than 50 countries worldwide, with over 550,000 passengers interviewed in 2014 alone. It provides the most authoritative and extensive analysis of airport service performance, and is trusted by over 300 airports around the globe and more than 60% of the world’s 100 largest airports. The program is an Airports Council International (ACI) initiative in partnership with aviation business analysis specialists, DKMA, who provide independent market research, analysis and information solutions exclusively for the airport industry.
