The Sharjah Commerce and Tourism Development Authority will be attending the Moscow International Travel and Tourism Exhibition, MITT, being held from March 18th to 21st in Moscow. The authority's participation follows its successful participation in the ITB Berlin exhibition and the India roadshow under the National Council for Tourism and Antiquities.
Sharjah will be represented in Moscow by SCTDA, Sharjah Airport Authority, SATA, Sharjah Museums Department, Hilton Sharjah, Sheraton Beach Resort and Spa Sharjah, Radisson Blu, Ramada Sharjah, Al Khalidiah Tourism, Cozmo Travel and MH Group of Hotels.
This will be the 16th consecutive year that Sharjah has participated in the MITT exhibition. The Moscow fair offers a strong international forum bringing together leaders of the travel, tourism and hospitality industry from across Europe, CIS nations and from around the world.
Sharjah's participation in the Moscow exhibition in the past has led to productive engagement, tourism exchange and cooperation agreements with global stakeholders contributing to Sharjah's tourism market and an increase in international guests.
The 2014 statistics show that Sharjah's hotels, especially beach resorts, attracted more than 400,000 Russian guests last year, which is an increase of 20% over the previous year and underscores the pre-eminence that Sharjah enjoys as an international tourist destination as far as Russian visitors are concerned.
The destination of Sharjah is being showcased at MITT Moscow through an attractive pavilion of contemporary design, highlighting the emirate's heritage, culture and year-long activities and festivals.
Air Arabia, the first and largest low-cost carrier in the Middle East and North Africa, flies to seven major cities in Russia: Moscow, Kazan, Krasnodar, Rostov, Yekaterinburg, Samara and Ufa, contributing to the strengthening of the strong bonds of trade, tourism and culture that exist between the UAE and Russia.
In its 22nd year, MITT Moscow has come to earn itself a special status as an international trade exhibition and networking event. Spread over an area of 57,000 square metres, the Moscow exhibition last year attracted more than 2,000 exhibitors from 200 countries and 40,000 visitors from around the world.
