Winner of the Red Dot Best of the Best 2014 product design award, Teuco‘s Pop Accademia Bathtub is an instant eye-catcher. Discovered on Trendir, the project is meant to bring color into the bathroom in an original manner: “With the Pop Limited Edition Accademia bathtub, we have combined classic with post-modern, creating a unique piece: a collector’s item, capable of summing up in the best possible way the merger of technology with Teuco design, catering to the needs of craftsmanship, to become pure art”, the developers stated.
While developing the exclusive world of Accademia, the designers exploited all the potential of Duralight®, a solid surface composite material conceived, produced and processed exclusively by Teuco, which is 100% pliable, easy to restore, hygienic and easy to clean: “With Accademia, we have pushed the versatility of Duralight® beyond its existing limits, making this bathtub an item capable of setting a new styling standard, which is both strikingly simple yet at the same time luxurious, all imbued with a simplicity that allows past, present and future to liaise, teaming minimalism with neo-classical design.” Have a look at the video below and see the making-of process behind this striking bathtub design!
