Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi received yesterday H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, UAE Foreign Minister, on the side-lines of 'Egypt Economic Development Conference', being held in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt.
President el-Sisi praised the benevolent positions taken by the UAE leadership and people in support of Egypt and the will of its people, citing the UAE's unwavering support to the Egyptian economy.
President al-Sisi thanked the UAE for the vital role it played in organising the conference and making it successful, referring to the wide participation of the UAE institutions and companies, and its eagerness to take part in the economic development of Egypt.
During the meeting, President al-Sisi and the UAE Foreign Minister discussed the bilateral relations between the two countries in various political, economic and developmental fields. They also exchanged views on ways to strengthen them to reach new horizons of greater cooperation and strategic coordination between the two countries in the best interest of both countries and peoples, especially in the light of the unfolding events in the region, which require concerted efforts to build effective and capable Arab strategy to address various challenges, particularly those related to the counter-terrorism and extremism.
Sheikh Abdullah reiterated during the meeting the position of the UAE in support of Egypt, politically and economically, noting that Egypt is a pillar of stability and safety valve in the Middle East, given its strategic and security weight in the region, a move he said, "doubles the importance of backing it in this defining moment."
The meeting was attended by Dr. Sultan Ahmed Al Jaber, Minister of State and Sameh Shoukry, Egyptian Foreign Minister.
