The "National Research Foundation" in the "Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research" has recently launched a trial version of "Researchers Database" for workers in accredited universities in the UAE to be a resource for all related
authorities.
The Director of the Foundation Dr. "Husam Al Ulama" said that the number of researchers involved in the Database has reached (5,483) researchers in various scientific disciplines from (57) universities in the State, their research discusses applied sciences, engineering, humanities, social sciences, education, law, information technology, Islamic studies, Sharia, economics, banking, accounting and petroleum studies. He also pointed out that researchers that are not registered in the Database can participate after completing the process of coordination between the university they belong and the "National Research Foundation", then completing the form for their participation available at the Foundation.
The Database is intended to encourage the specialized cadres capable of conducting scientific research, facilitate the activities of technology transfer and to organize conferences and scientific meetings. The Foundation is seeking after the great response from educational institutions and with their efforts in the establishment of the Database to develop and provide ongoing support to students and researchers and provide all that is needed to help them activate their research which contributes to the further development of the State in various areas, there will be cooperation and coordination with international universities in various fields of scientific research, in addition to relevant institutions in the countries of the "Gulf Cooperation Council" and Arab countries, to supplement the State with scientific research which is on a global degree of excellence.
The trial version of the Database is available on the demo site of the Foundation http://www.nrf.ae/ResearcherProfile.aspx Contents can be searched by using the name of the researcher, the research specialty and the University.
