Coral reef in the Caribbean provide a natural habitat to marine life

Coral reef in the Caribbean provide a natural habitat to marine life London – Arab Today Coral reefs in the Caribbean are in danger of disappearing unless carbon emissions are drastically reduced, scientists have warned .
According to a study in the journal Current Biology, coral reef growth in the beauty spot is already much slower than 30 years ago.
Dr Emma Kennedy, from the University of Exeter, said the reef may stop growing in the nest 20-30 years and would eventually break up.  She said, “The balance between reef growth and reef erosion is changing as we alter the environment.  This means that increasingly, some reefs are breaking down faster than they can replace themselves, essentially they\'re being worn away.”
Coral provides a natural habitat for many marine fish and animals.
“Healthy reefs are the rainforests of the sea,\' says Kennedy. \'They provide habitat for over a quarter of all marine species, including many colourful fish and corals.”
