The head of the Egyptian artifacts sector at the Antiquities Ministry Ayman el Ashmawy denied news published in some websites and fanned in media pertaining to discovering a cemetery for King Seti II below one of the houses in Minya.
In statements on Sunday, Ashmawy said that the tourism and antiquities police arrested today one of the citizens who carried out excavation work under his house in Samalout village.
The citizen found a number of artifacts dating back to the era of King Seti II but not a cemetery.
The police confiscated the house of the arrested until investigations are over, Ashmawy underlined
